Cameroon: Anglophone crisis divides parliament

In Cameroon, there now exists a political crisis within the parliament as a result of the Anglophone saga.

The 18 parliamentarians and 14 Senators of the Social Democratic Front (SDF) have published a communiqué in which they denounce in 8 points, the socio-political situation of the North West and the South West Regions of Cameroon.

The group of SDF parliamentarians, equally say they are against the excessive abuse of human rights, mass killings and the displacement of arrested Southern Cameroonians to Yaounde.

As revealed by the members of parliament, the two English speaking Regions of the country have now been considered by the government as terrorists so as to shoot and kill its inhabitants.

“Instead of inclusive, franc and sincere dialogue, the government is using force to solve a political problem” the MPs said.

In order to prove their seriousness, the SDF Parliamentarians and Senators have decided to suspend their participation in every meeting organised by the Parliament.
