A note circulating on social media features a curfew from the divisional officer for Buea Sub Division. Movements from 7pm to 6am are prohibited.
Buea is the capital of the South West region of Cameroon. It is one of the two English-speaking regions of the country fighting for autonomy or complete reform in the nature of the state.
"The Divisional Officer for Buea Sub Division hereby reminds all commercial motor cycle riders and the general public of the prohibition of movements from 7:00pm to 6:00a in execution of the regional order No 139/L/SEC/22/SP," the note reads.
"Any rider who goes contrary to the order shall attract immediate reaction from the forces of law and order without prior warning," it warns.
A similar note was disowned by the powers that be months ago. It reportedly cautioned some villagers to relocate following an eventual crackdown on Ambazonian separatist fighters.
