Adolf Lele L'Afrique has banned the circulation of motorbikes temporarily in Bafut, North West region of Cameroon after some unidentified gunmen reportedly attacked teachers and destroyed vehicles in the area.
The governor's order does not affect motorcycles from military personnel, civil servants or authorized persons.
The incident happened on Friday when the armed men got to GHS Bafut and GTHS Bafut. They ordered everyone to go home and damaged the cars they found on the campuses. Two teachers were manhandled, Cameroon Info Net has reported.
The same news site adds that government forces later joined the drama and set motorbikes ablaze in retaliation. At least one rider is believed to have been shot. Â It is not clear if the shot was fatal.
Some people suspect Ambazonia separatists campaigning against school resumption in Southern Cameroons.
