There is information circulating that Paul Biya, the head of the regime in power in Cameroon, is planning to go to Bamenda, the capital of the Northwest Region.
Cameroon-info.net reports, citing Le Messager newspaper that, after Philemon Yang’s mission to the Northwest Region as one of the elites who were assigned to go and preach their so called peace and National unity, the head of State decided he would go to Bamenda.
Even though the date is not yet revealed sources say it could likely be in December this year.
Paul Biya is just from honouring soldiers who died in the English speaking Regions of Cameroon as a result of confrontations with Southern Cameroonians.
Le Messager in their article say, “the President has to go to the English speaking Regions and see for himself what is happening on the field”. This goes in line with what many observers having been wondering about. They expected Paul Biya to go to the North and the Southwest Regions to dialogue with the protesters while it was still at the initial stage.
Now it is considered to be too late for such a decision to be taken, given that, Southern Cameroonians are determined to get what they want, which is not in line with what Paul Biya desires.
