The Dangote cement factory in Cameroon which was supposed to have started production earlier last year has announced that its first bags will be available in the market this January 2015. The expected production is 1.5 million tonnes of cement per year and the director of the project, Baba Abduhallï told local media in Cameroon that the plant is almost ready. Said Baba Abduhalli “We have already received the raw material which come from Tombel”.

Cameroon Concord’s chief economic reporter  revealed that the plant will start production from the beginning of next week commencing with the "test run" process spread over ten days before the product is analyzed and appraised by LABOGENIE. We also gathered that the promoter of the project Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote has been making regular trips to the site and has promised to recruit Cameroon mechanical engineers and marketers to join the Dangote group of international work force.
