Unveiling Tomorrow's Cameroon Through Today's News

Breaking

President Paul Biya,85, has demanded explanation from the special adiviser to the presidency, Luc Sindjoun, following his reported reaction to a statement made by the US Ambassador to Cameroon advising MrBiya to step down.

The revelation is published in the Essingan newspaper.

MrSindjoun is believed to have said the statement from Ambassador Barlerin was proof of good relations between both countries, a stance which does not seem to get down well with the president.

The US diplomate has raised much dust in Cameroon after disclosing that he recommended Nelson Mandela and George Washington to Biya as good examples to follow. He urged the president “to think about his legacy”.

MrBiya, who has been in power since 1982, is apparently a stark opposite of these two former leaders who set the pace of democracy in their respective nations.

MrBiya’s Minister of External Relations reacted by inviting the ambassador to explain his statement.
