Abdouraman Hamadou Babba appeals to the Swiss Federal Court in a final attempt to prove Tombi A Roko Sidiki FECAFOOT Presidency illegitimate
A Roko Sidiki has known no peace ever since he became President of FECAFOOT through the highly controversial elections organised by FIFA’s temporary committee in November 2015. Abdouraman Hamadou Babba, President of Etoile Filante Football Club of Garoua sees Tombi A Roko as an illegitimate President and recently made it public on his Facebook wall that he has finally resorted to taking the matter to the Swiss Federal Court.
According to the Conciliation and Arbitration Chamber of the National Olympic and Sports Committee of Cameroon, the election of the current FECAFOOT president Tombi A Roko was null and void since the temporary committee appointed by FIFA in July 2013 was meant to run the federation only for eight months.
“The CAS confirms that FECAFOOT has been illegal since 12 November 2015 and that the Minister of Sport's communiqué of 18 November 2015 has no effect on the ruling of the Conciliation and Arbitration Chamber of the National Olympic and Sports Committee of Cameroon which cancelled the entire electoral process” says Abdouraman Hamadou. Whether we like it or not, according to the constitution of FECAFOOT, the only executive body able to act today in the name of FECAFOOT remains the one elected on May 24, 2009 headed by Mr. John Begheni Ndeh, in the absence of Mr. Iya Mohammed” he adds.
“If we have decided to appeal to the Swiss Federal Court, it is first and foremost to reveal to the world a number of unimaginable practices that could seriously damage world sports” Abdouraman says.
“The reality of today is that Mr. TOMBI A ROKO is not and has never been President of FECAFOOT” he adds.
After the recent AFCON victory, Mr Tombi A Roko seems to be more confident in his role as President of FECAFOOT.
“Now for those who say that I am not president of FECAFOOT, we can resume elections several times, I will always be elected. Some must understand that it is God who chooses. If he has not chosen someone to be president of FECAFOOT, he can do rounds at the Court of Arbitration for Sport, he will never be president” says Tombi A Roko Sidiki.
However, the performance of the lions in the just ended AFCON strongly suggests that Tombi A Roko Sidiki might just be the appropriate man for the job.
