Cannon’s shock came on Sunday, when they lost to Colombe 0-1. It became official that they are now a second division team with three more playing days to go. The Yaounde based football club are presently on 24 points as they struggle to accept their new fate.

It would be hard to believe that, this is a team that has won the Cameroon local championship 10 times and the cup of Cameroon 11 times. That is not just all, it has equally produced Cameroonian big names in football like Marc Vivien Foe, Theophile Abega and Jean Paul Akono amongst others

Colombe the crucifiers of Cannon, have been putting up a great performance on their part, towards these last days of the Division one Championship. They are at the moment,  seeded 9th on the classification table with 41 points.

The 10th of September is now perhaps a day Cannon of Yaounde will never forget. That day they were ruthlessly dropped to the second division.

Coach Antonio Barbosa and his boys can celebrate for now, after moving one step further than the team did in the last edition of the competition as they were eliminated at the level of the 8th finals by Algeria. They made it this time to the quarter finals, eliminating Rwanda with 81-77.

Some Cameroonian based professional football players of the MTN Elite One championship, have been nominated for the 2017 awards of the Cameroonian premier local league.

The daughter of the La Republique Presidential couple, Brenda Anasthasie Elle Eyenga Biya is reported to be one of the candidates who will sit in for this year’s entrance exam into ENAM, which is an academic institution apparently reserved for the privileged of the country.

The 20 year old is 325th on the list of candidates, for the competitive exam.

The Cameroonian basketball squad have lost their first match against Tunisia 68-51, after dominating the game especially during the first quarter. A never tiring Tunisian public didn't back down on what they had come out for which was to support their team till the end. This spirit boosted the morale of the co-hosts who took over immense control towards the end of the game.

Cameroon led in the first quarter 20-12, then Tunisia dominated the rest of the three quarters: second 16-11, third 13-10 and fourth quarter 27-10, giving a total of 68-51 in favour of Tunisia.

After today's match, the lions will face Guinea who lost to Rwanda 55-75, tomorrow at 1pm

Rwanda leads group C, followed by Tunisia, Cameroon and Guinea.

After close to two days of suspense since the arrival of the FIFA/CAF delegation in Cameroon, the names of the new members of the normalization committee have been revealed.

At the head of the commitittee, we have, Dieudonne HAPPI(president)

He will be closely assisted by  Marcelle Denise AMBOMO (vice president)

Maurice Samuel BELLET EDIMO, Dr Abdou OUMEROU and Kevin NJOMO KAMDEM are members of this newly created committee.

The two names that were on almost every Cameroonians mind, Joseph Antoine Bell and Gilbert Kadji, were no where to be found on the list.
