Cameroon footballer dies after Njalla Quan versus Apejes encounter

The celebration of victory by Njalla Quan Sports Academy over Apejes Mfou was short-lived at the Limbe Municipal stadium following the sudden death of one of its players, Olivier David Njock. Cameroon Concord understands the said David Njock did not take part in the encounter that witnessed Njalla Quan winning by one goal to nil but gave up the ghost soon after the final whistle was sounded.

Reports from Limbe maintained he was among the players not included on the match form against Apejes, but had trained in the morning with the team before heading to the stadium. After the victory, Njock joined his teammates in the celebrations that followed and collapsed thereafter. He was rushed to the Limbe Divisional hospital where doctors pronounced him death.

Head coach David Kemmogne told local and international media that it was another sad day for the club. Olivier David Njock, aged 20, joined Njalla Quan Sports Academy two years ago and was a great midfield player.
