Cannon’s shock came on Sunday, when they lost to Colombe 0-1. It became official that they are now a second division team with three more playing days to go. The Yaounde based football club are presently on 24 points as they struggle to accept their new fate.
It would be hard to believe that, this is a team that has won the Cameroon local championship 10 times and the cup of Cameroon 11 times. That is not just all, it has equally produced Cameroonian big names in football like Marc Vivien Foe, Theophile Abega and Jean Paul Akono amongst others
Colombe the crucifiers of Cannon, have been putting up a great performance on their part, towards these last days of the Division one Championship. They are at the moment, seeded 9th on the classification table with 41 points.
The 10th of September is now perhaps a day Cannon of Yaounde will never forget. That day they were ruthlessly dropped to the second division.
