The Confederation of African Football has decided to follow the footsteps of FIFA by introducing the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) as from the quarter finals of the CHAN in 2018.
The CAF referees committee took the decision after meeting on Monday in Cairo Egypt to figure out how it could look like if the Video assistant referee was to be used in African football.
Starting from the Quarter finals of the African football championship in Morocco 2018, no action of the game will go unnoticed, given that the video assistant referee will be there to check any errors.
The CAF officials say they intend to reduce the mistakes that have always been made in African football and which went unnoticed, either on the part of the referee or the players.
