Eto'o Fils and Benjamin Mounkandjo Named In CAF African Player Of The Year Awards

Cameroon's Samuel Eto'o Fils and Benjamin Mounkandjo have both been nominated for the 2016 CAF players of the year.

amuel Eto'o Fils born 10 March 1981 is a Cameroonian professional footballer who plays as a striker for Turkish club Antalyaspor. He is the most decorated African player of all time, having won the African Player of the Year award a record four times: in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2010. He was third in the FIFA World Player of the Year award in 2005.

 

Another contestant from,Benjamin Moukandjo is the new captain of the Indomitable Lions.He was born on 12 November 1988 and currently plays for FC Lorient in Ligue 1 as a forward.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) awards is a yearly ritual instituted to honor footballers and personalities who have excelled in various departments of the game as well as making meaningful contribution to its development in the continent.

The awards which dates back to 1970 when the best African Footballer of the Year was recognized, has expanded to other categories with the inclusion of women footballers for their enormous contribution to the game.
