The Japoma sports complex will hold a 50,000 seat stadium, a sports hall, an Olympic swimming pool, a handball court, gym, a large pool, two training courts, tennis courts, an annex of the national Football Academy, a shopping centre and landscaped areas according to the Cameroon Tribune.
A Turkish company will build the complex which is expected to cost around $143 billion with 75 percent of the project financed by the Turk Eximbank.Japoma Sports complex must be “delivered four months before the start of the African Cup of Nations … which will take place in Cameroonin 2019,” Cameroon’s economy minister, Louis-Paul Motaze, said at the signing of the project financing agreement in Yaounde on Nov. 2 Yenigun Construction said on its website that the contract for the project was signed in December 2015.
