The 2018 edition of the university games in Cameroon have kick-started today Friday 4 May. The minister of Higher education in the host city Maroua, promised to give out 25 million to outstanding entrepreneurship students.
Apart from promising to give 25 million to some of the students, Jacque Fame Ndongo called for fair play and respect for each other “I have asked the athletes to observe fair play, objectivity and the spirit of Olympic games, because what is important is not only to win but to participate" the Minister said.
Day one of the event which is in its 21st edition, was characterised by several activities like the parade with the Olympic torch and a football encounter which was played between the university of Maroua and the Institut Universite de la Cote, which ended 2-2.
The University of Maroua took the necessary measures to ensure an excellent competition, which they are handling for their first time.
Among the participants of the competition, is a Chadian Delegation.
