Cameroon: CRTV reports that ELECAM has stepped up campaign against 2018 Presidential election

The Director General of Elections Cameroon (ELECAM), Abdoulaye Babale according to CRTV has launched the annual revision of electoral lists in the country.

The official launch was during a ceremony organised this 3rd January 2017 in Yaounde. During the event, the ELECAM Director General sounded the institution's desire to hit a 25% increase in registration nationwide.

He said to attain the objective, fixed and mobile ELECAM teams shall be deployed nationwide to facilitate the revision of the electoral register.


It is worth recalling that in 2016, ELECAM obtained a record of 510.000 newly registered voters on the electoral lists. The total number of registered voters is presently 6.250.000.

The Secretary General at the Office of the Governor of the Centre Region took part in the ceremony which was attended by other ELECAM officials.
