Canada-Cameroon relations enhanced by plans for a 5-star Marriott Hotel in Douala.


The High Commissioner of #Canada to #Cameroon, H.E. Richard Bale joined Mr. Henri Eyebe Ayissi, Minister of State Property, Surveys and Land Tenure (MINDCAF) and Mrs. Marie Rose Dibong, Secretary of State at the Min. of Housing and Urban Development (MINDUH), for the signing ceremony of the long-term lease agreement btw the State of Cameroon and Immigration & Business Canada represented by its Canadian promoter , Mr. Olivier Chi Nouako, on August 10, 2020. US Embassy was represented by its Chargée d'Affaires.

The Douala Marriott will enable Cameroon’s economic capital to benefit from world-class hotel facilities and services. The hotel will provide 280 rooms including presidential, junior and standard suites, a conference room with a capacity of 1000, a swimming pool, a business center, a casino and leisure areas. The overall cost of the project is estimated at US$100m with construction scheduled to be completed within 3 years.
