Unveiling Tomorrow's Cameroon Through Today's News

Breaking

President Muhammadu Buhari is leaving New York after attending the United Nations General Assembly, and heading to the United Kingdom to see his doctors.

The Presidency said Mr. Buhari would be leaving New York City today for the United Kingdom, although it was not clear when he would be going back to Nigeria.

“After his successful outings at the 72nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly, President Muhammadu Buhari leaves New York today for London, on his way back to Nigeria,” said the President’s special assistant on new media, Mr. Bashir Ahmad.

Mr. Buhari has spent many months this year treating himself in London, and only returned to Nigeria on August 19, after more than a hundred days there.

It was his second trip there this year. He first traveled to London in January and returned on March 10. He left again on May 7 and returned on August 19. This is his third trip there in 9 months.

This time, the Presidency has not said how long he intends to stay. Besides, he has not transferred power to Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, an indication that he may not be there for long.
