Anglophone Crisis: SYNES Calls For The Resumption Of Classes In Buea And Bamenda
The trade union of Higher Education teachers, SYNES is calling on their members in Buea and Bamenda to resume lectures. In a meeting in Yaounde chaired by the Minister of Higher Education last week, the national exco of SYNES agreed to do what it takes to ensure life returns to normal in the two Anglo saxon universities of Buea and Bamenda.
SYNES Buea and Bamenda are amongst the striking trade unions in the english speaking regions demanding the unconditionla preservation of the english educational system which obtains in the North Werst and South West regions.
The call is coming at a time when the Prime Minister who earlier failed to reach a consensus with the protesting teachers is on his way to Bamenda for a crucial meeting Thursday January 5. observers say the highly awaited conclave will determine the destiny of the academic year in the two regions.
SYNES memebers from Buea and Bamenda are yet to comment on the call from their national executive.
