Business As Usual: FECAFOOT and FIFA Collaborate to Enhance Talent Development
Yaoundé, April 4, 2024 - The President of FECAFOOT, along with members of a FIFA delegation led by former Ghanaian international Anthony BAFOE, convened on Thursday morning for discussions centered on evaluating the FIFA Talent Scheme (TDS) project.

The delegation, comprising FIFA High Performance Specialist (HPS) Anthony BAFOE, accompanied by Franciny SAMBA from the FIFA Regional Office; Etienne SOCKENG, Regional Technical Consultant; and Jorge REISS, FIFA Talent Coach (based in Cameroon), engaged in fruitful deliberations aimed at enhancing talent development in Cameroon.
The focus of the discussions was on assessing the progress of the TDS project, which aims to identify and nurture young talent in football. Under this initiative, 25 young girls and 25 young boys born between 2010 and 2011 will undergo talent detection processes. Those selected will be provided with full accommodation at the technical center of FECAFOOT until 2026, where they will receive comprehensive training and support to hone their skills and potential.
The collaboration between FECAFOOT and FIFA underscores a shared commitment to nurturing the next generation of football talent in Cameroon. By investing in the development of young players, both organizations aim to not only enhance the quality of football in the country but also contribute to the overall growth and success of the sport on a global scale.
The discussions concluded on a positive note, with both FECAFOOT and FIFA reaffirming their dedication to the success of the TDS project and their ongoing collaboration to promote excellence in football development.
Stay tuned for further updates on the progress of the TDS project and its impact on the football landscape in Cameroon.
