Cameroon: Calm reportedly returns to Yaounde after the installation of new pro Biya comedians
It’s all calm in Yaounde the capital City after the sirens of the Prime Minister’s Motor trots, the sound of drum beats from numerous traditional dance groups, the hallelujah choruses from the religious groups and the heavy deployment of security officials that characterized yesterday’s ceremony. To a visitor coming into Yaounde, it is business as usual, in sharp contrast with the hustling and bustling just 24 hours ago. The new men and women installed in different capacities are now coming to terms with the challenges.
They are being acquainted with the specific missions assigned to them. Most of the new Ministers began working sessions with close collaborators to have an idea on what has been done, what is still left and how to proceed. In respect to this a meeting with the Prime Minister and Head of Government has been scheduled. It is being whispered that the Prime Minister shall reiterate the importance of an urgent take-off especially within a context where critics have frowned at the speed of execution of the Economic Emergency plan.
