Cameroon: Five storey building collapsed in Douala
A 5 storey building under construction collapsed earlier today in Nkogmondo, a popular district in Douala the economic capital. Local residents have revealed that the building collapsed like a house of cards. Fire fighters arrived some thirty minutes after the incident.
The Douala city council authorities are yet to announce any human casualties. Cameroon Concord's Ebong Peter gathered from some reliable sources that the building was not inhabited. Some construction experts have opined that the owner recruited amateurs who did not follow the rules set for construction in a marshy area.
