President Mahamadou Issoufou of Niger expected in Yaounde

The President of Niger, Mahamadou Issoufou will be visiting Cameroon in the coming days, Cameroon Concord has been reliably informed. After President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria, Niger is another country directly affected by the atrocious activities of the Nigerian Islamic sect, Boko Haram. The visit will provide an opportunity for Biya and his Nigerien counterpart to agree on certain aspects in the war on terror and combating Boko Haram. 

Beyond this visit, the agenda of the Cameroonian president seems loaded. Etoudi is also preparing for its chief occupant to attend a top ECOWAS meeting aimed at mapping out a comprehensive strategy geared towards checking Boko Haram finances. People on the know in Yaounde have also hinted that the President is planning a working visit of friendship to Nigeria anytime soon. And unless changed, President Biya will participate in the General Assembly of the United Nations in September 2015 in New York.
