Unveiling Tomorrow's Cameroon Through Today's News

Breaking

Cameroon's main opposition movement, the Social Democratic Front, SDF will decide whether to pick  the party chairman, John Fru Ndi or another contender to run for the 2018 Presidential election in October. This will be during the party's convention and it  is one of the main  fallouts of the National Executive Committee of the party which held over the weekend in Bamenda.

The Convention was due to hold in February this year but was indefinitely pushed forward. The debate whther John Fru Ndi will be contest Biya has been the talk in the past few months. With many supporters and sympathizers calling for the party's Vice President, Joshua Osih to give a new impetus to the party.

Osih himself has downplayed such comments but observers says he still remains the best option for the SDF and inspires hope and positivity in a society where party leaders have declared themselves leaders till death.

The party convention will present a golden opportunity to know whether the party will embrace  change or see Fru Ndi continue with long term ambition of occupying the Etoudi house.

In the meantime, Fru Ndi has asked party officials to ensure the the party wins at least two thirds of all Council, Parliamentary and Senate seats in the 2018 elections. District chairpersons have been to go out and convince people to register for the elections. " There is no use being a NEC member if u cannot win a council in your area, " Fru Ndi said.

Winning two thirds of elective positives will be a better of the party to impose itself into the governance now obsessed by the  ruling CPDM
