Unveiling Tomorrow's Cameroon Through Today's News

Breaking

Retired Justice Ayah Paul has disclosed the list of some of the people who are 'behind his detention.'
In an open letter in Le Messager,  Ayah Paul believes that the current parliamentarian for Akwaya, Igelle Elias, is one of the conspirators.
Some members of government including  justice minister, Laurent Esso, are part of the plot, he says.
Ayah Paul has been in detention in Yaoundé for several months, with the reason yet to be disclosed to him.
He was arrested in the wake of the unrest in West Cameroon. Anglophones decry their marginalization by the populous eight French-speaking regions of the nation.
Ayah Paul claims that Honorable Elias has never contacted him or any of his family members, not even on phone, according to Cameroon-Info.Net.
But shockingly, he observed, Mr Elias phoned his wife on 19 January 2017. Ayah says Elias had asked his wife to inform him if he [Ayah] escaped from captivity or if he was released, the same news site reports, quoting Le Messager.
Honorable Elias reportedly replaced Ayah Paul at the National Assembly.
The former judge who was retired recently by Paul Biya also deplored the condition of his detention.
He pointed out that he has been denied access to the phone as cautioned by his doctor due to his poor health.
Access to the toilet is also preoccupying to Ayah Paul.
The full list of the conspirators and their respective roles has been kept jealously by the former judge, he says.
