[YAOUNDE, Oct. 20, 2025] — The campaign of Issa Tchiroma Bakary, the opposition candidate widely seen as the victor of Cameroon’s October 12 presidential election, has hit back at regime-linked propaganda and published verifiable evidence of his triumph — the original procès-verbaux (PVs) signed at polling stations across the country.
In a detailed communiqué released Sunday night, the campaign’s Compilation Committee said all departmental results were compiled directly from these PVs and are available for anyone — citizens, observers, or journalists — to download and verify.
“Our results come from the official PVs given to party representatives at the close of counting,” the statement read. “We publish the originals so that every Cameroonian and every observer can see for themselves who really won.”
Authenticity Confirmed by Cameroon Concord Observers
Independent verification of the PVs’ authenticity has now come from the ground.
According to reports gathered by Cameroon Concord’s field correspondents, several Cameroonians who filmed or photographed PVs at their polling stations have confirmed that the documents released by Tchiroma’s team match perfectly with what they recorded on election day.
In Bonamoussadi, Douala, at the Collège Bilingue Pilote de Kotto, a voter told Cameroon Concord:
“I filmed the PVs of my polling station and those next door, and they are exactly the same as the ones published by President Tchiroma.”
Similar confirmations have reached Cameroon Concord from Yaoundé, Garoua, and Bafoussam — reinforcing public trust in the integrity of the documents shared by the campaign.
Documented Results So Far
The following departments have been fully published with supporting PVs:
-
Wouri (Littoral Region)
-
Vina (Adamaoua Region)
Each folder provides full access to the scanned PVs for public verification, alongside a README file describing the compilation process.
Refuting Regime Disinformation
The Tchiroma campaign says it will continue to publish all 18 departmental datasets to expose what it calls the “statistical miracles” being prepared by the regime’s machinery.
Pro-regime blogs and media, including some ELECAM-linked outlets, have attempted to discredit the opposition’s figures — claims the campaign dismisses as “pure fiction without evidence.”
“Anyone claiming our figures are fake must publish their own PVs and point out the differences,” said the committee’s spokesperson. “Without PVs, their claims are worthless.”
Meanwhile, official state results emerging from regions like the Northwest and Southwest — where voter turnout was extremely low due to insecurity — claim overwhelming victories for Biya, raising eyebrows both at home and abroad.
Cameroonians Defend Their Votes
Across the country, citizens are now rallying behind transparency, circulating their own photos and videos of PVs to corroborate the published data.
Analysts say this level of public engagement is unprecedented in Cameroon’s electoral history, transforming voters into citizen auditors.
“This time, the regime is facing a new reality,” said Eric Acha, a political analyst in Douala.
“Technology has made every Cameroonian a witness. You can no longer bury the truth in sealed envelopes.”
Analysis: Transparency as Resistance
Tchiroma’s strategy — to publish every PV online — is emerging as a masterstroke in the post-election struggle.
By opening the documentation process to the public, his campaign has forced a shift from opaque bureaucracy to evidence-based democracy.
For the first time, the regime’s usual control over results through closed counting rooms is being challenged by a flood of citizen-generated data, livestreams, and independent compilations.
Political observers note that this approach could serve as a model for electoral accountability across Africa — “a digital firewall against dictatorship.”
Conclusion
With the National Vote Compilation Commission still silent five days after the polls, tensions continue to rise nationwide.
From Douala to Garoua, Bafoussam to Limbe, citizens insist that the truth of the ballot box must prevail.
As the Tchiroma campaign promises to release more departmental results, the message to the regime is clear:
“The people have spoken — and this time, their voice has receipts.”
