Unveiling Tomorrow's Cameroon Through Today's News

Breaking

Abidjan, 9 July 2025 — Cameroon Concord Desk

Tragedy struck the Cameroonian community in Côte d’Ivoire this week, as a Cameroonian man, identified as Atchouda Jean Paul, was found dead in the residence of Ivorian Minister of Health, Pierre N’gou Dimba, under unclear circumstances.

Atchouda, a long-time resident of Côte d’Ivoire and a respected boxing coach, had reportedly been hired as a personal bodyguard to the minister. According to family sources in Cameroon, they were informed several days ago that he had been killed inside the minister’s home.

So far, no official statement has been released by Ivorian authorities regarding the circumstances surrounding his death, nor has there been any public explanation from the minister or his office.

Family members in Cameroon, who say they lack the means to travel or intervene, told Cameroon Concord they have been informed by contacts in Abidjan that the body of Atchouda Jean Paul would be buried locally in Côte d’Ivoire.

This marks the third known case of a Cameroonian national killed in Côte d’Ivoire in the past four months — a disturbing trend that has raised concerns among Cameroonian diaspora organizations and human rights activists.

Community representatives are calling on both Cameroonian and Ivorian authorities to fully investigate the killing and provide answers to his family.

Cameroon Concord will continue to follow this story and bring readers updates as more details emerge.
