Legal Shuffle Unveiled: New Judge Assigned to Martinez Zogo Case
In an official order for withdrawal of a investigating judge signed by the President of the Military Court of Yaoundé, Colonel-Magistrate Misse Njone Jacques Baudouin, it is now confirmed that Judge Sikati II Kwamo Aimé Florent has been officially relieved of the Martinez Zogo case through an order dated December 18, 2023.
The case is now formally entrusted to Lieutenant-Colonel Magistrate Nzie Pierrot Narcisse, who has assumed the role. This marks the third judge in the investigation into the assassination of Martinez Zogo in less than a year.
It's worth noting that Judge Sikati's withdrawal from the Martinez Zogo case comes on the eve of the scheduled hearing of Savom Martin Stéphane, Mayor of Bibey, who is expected at the Military Court of Yaoundé this Tuesday. Following his previous summons (the second), he had requested a postponement from Judge Sikati II Kwamo Aimé Florent. Despite the request, his hearing was maintained.
