Unveiling Tomorrow's Cameroon Through Today's News

Breaking

Four operatives from the Directorate General of External Intelligence (DGRE) implicated in the assassination of the journalist and presenter Martinez Zogo seem to have vanished after being extracted from the military prison in Yaoundé. The agents, bearing the names Godje, Nana, Daouda, and Lamfou, had been apprehended at the outset of the investigation into the murder of the host of the "Traffic Jams" program.

Initially confined in the military prison in Yaoundé, they were removed from their place of detention on Wednesday, January 24th, to be brought before the military tribunal. However, for a week now, they have not been returned to prison, and their relatives are devoid of any information about their whereabouts.

The rationale behind their extraction was to present them before the military tribunal, but the circumstances surrounding their disappearance remain shrouded in mystery. Speculations suggest the possibility of an escape, yet no confirmation has been provided. According to certain sources, the agents are purportedly currently held in various gendarmerie brigades, with no means of external communication.

It is also mentioned that these DGRE operatives played a role in the foiled attempt to free Jean-Pierre Amougou Belinga and Eko Eko on December 1st, orchestrated by Judge Sikati Kamwo II. The inquiry into this intricate affair raises numerous questions, and the situation remains unresolved regarding the whereabouts and current status of the missing agents.
