On April 2, 2024, Adolphe Minkoa She, Aaron Logmo Mbelek, and nine other esteemed elders, whose mandates were renewed, officially took their oaths before the Parliament assembled in Congress.

The swearing-in ceremony for the members of the Constitutional Council, a crucial advisory and judicial body tasked with upholding the constitutionality of laws and ensuring the regularity of elections, was held at the Palais des Congrès in Yaoundé. Deputies, senators, and representatives of the people and local communities gathered in Congress to witness the occasion.

In his address, President of the Congress and National Assembly, Cvaye Yeguié Djibril, emphasized the vital role of the Council and the expectations placed upon its members by the populace. Clément Atangana, the president of the Constitutional Council, along with the eight other incumbent members, embark on their second six-year term within the institution, which was established in 1996 and became operational in 2018. A total of 10 members, both former and new, participated in the ceremony.

Professors Adolphe Minkoa She and Aaron Logmo Mbelek join the ranks of constitutional judges for the first time. Appointed by presidential decree on January 18, the academics took their oaths today as members of the Constitutional Council. In the coming months, they will contribute to fulfilling the missions and powers vested in the Council. This institution plays a critical role in adjudicating the conformity of lower laws and acts with the Constitution, as well as ensuring the integrity of parliamentary and presidential elections, including the announcement of results.
