Unveiling Tomorrow's Cameroon Through Today's News

Breaking

Officials of Bello Bouba Maigari’s National Alliance for Democracy and Progress (NUDP) recently doled out colossal sums of money to woo the population of Kumba to buy the party’s cards and vie for positions in the basic organs of the party ahead of the 2018 polls.

The sums of money that was given out ranged from FCFA 50,000 and above for those who wanted to respectively vie for executive positions in the Main, Women and Youth wings of the party.

Speaking at the occasion, the leader of the reorganisation exercise, Ndasi Elvis Noukam, said the decision to give out money to the militants was taken by the party hierarchy.

“It is an internal understanding which is based on the trust and quality of the people we are dealing with and I think that can be handled in our internal caucus," Noukam stated.

He had told his militants that they are still expected  to pay back the FCFA 50,000 caution fee, which the party institutes for every lists tabled for elections.

He reminded his party comrades at the election and installation ceremony that other political parties in Cameroon equally institute caution fee for certain posts of responsibility.

Noukam said that his party believes in the politics of a few quality persons, who can be used to change the dynamics of the masses at the grass root rather than a crowd of uncommitted militants, who only chased food and drinks.

He challenged the new leaders of the party in Kumba to pull a stun in the forthcoming polls.

“My dream is for the NUDP to take over and win with absolute majority. With the quality of persons voted into office today, there is no doubt that the future is  bright for the party in Meme,” Noukam asserted.
