Its even rumored in some quarters that an extra Ordinary session of the NEC could be convened to look into the files of those who, intend to run for the National stool of the SDF. While supporters of the ambitious militant see their choice's decision as a legitimate move that will open anew page for the party, supporters of Fru Ndi have not hidden thier dissatisfaction which they have qualified as an "internal coup" against the chairman.

While the party has always praised itself as an open democratic entity, the party has also come under criticisms for showing the exit door on any one who openly challenges the chairman. And Teche's view that the Fru Ndi's era has passed has not been recieved in some quarters of the party.
