President Idris Deby of Chad recently sent an emissary to Yaounde. The Chadian Minister of Finance and Budget, Alamine Bourma-Treye was received on Thursday 7th April 2016 at the Unity Palace by President Paul Biya.

State radio and television reported that after a 90-minutes discussion with President Biya, the Chadian envoy told reporters he was bearing a sealed message from the Chadian President Idris Deby Itno to his Cameroonian counterpart. 

The Idris Deby envoy and Biya held discussions on the ongoing war against the Nigerian Islamic sect, Boko Haram and the forth coming elections in Chad. Deby needs the support of all French surrogates in the Sub Saharan region to declare his intention to run for president.
