Switzerland is reported to have abandoned its mediation efforts between the Government of Cameroon and most of the separatist groups – according to Africa Intelligence.
Since June 2019, the Swiss talks initiative being led by Geneva-based Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD Centre) have been hampered by the refusal of certain groups whose leaders are in exile in the United States, to participate.
The Centre for humanitarian dialogue (HD) has been tasked by Switzerland, with the consent of the parties, to support the establishment of talks between the Republic of Cameroon and the pro-independence groups of Southern Cameroons to achieve a negotiated, just and sustainable settlement of the conflict.

President Paul Biya has ordered for the recruitment of 500 translators into the Cameroon public service as a means of solving the ongoing Anglophone crisis in the north west and south west regions.
The head of state in a tweet this Wednesday said he has ordered a “Special recruitment of 500 translators and translator-interpreters into the Public Service in accordance with the recommendations of the Major National Dialogue”. a tweet which preceded a correspondence from the Minister of State, Secretary General at the Presidency of the Republic Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh.
This massive recruitment of translators and interpreters according to the communiqué will be carried out within a period of 5 years that is from the year 2020 to 2025 and the running budget for this project is expected to be debated in the November session of parliament which is currently ongoing dedicated to the adoption of the upcoming years working budget.

UNO sensitises citizens on new state of Cameroon
The United Nations Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, has directed Prof. Martin Chia Ateh to organise sensitisation workshops on brief history of United Nations Organisation (UNO) State of Cameroon.
According to Guterres in a recent letter to Prof. Ateh, the workshops are held in Gwoza, Michika, Mubi, Ganye, Serti and Gembu of Borno, Adamawa and Taraba States.
This was disclosed, Friday, in Michika, Adamawa State by Augustine Sah, one of the steering committee members for the actualisation of UNO state of Cameroon. The State of Cameroon has already clocked 100 years. It covers an area of 86,214 square kilometres.
