Unveiling Tomorrow's Cameroon Through Today's News

Breaking

The coach of the Indomitable lions has apologized to Cameroonians for what he describes a humiliation following his outburst on the aftermath of his side’s 2-1 friendly loss to Guinea. Broos who led Cameroon to a fifth continental success lashed out at the amateurish and unprofessional display of the country's sports administrators which made his boys to be “refused” lunch at their hotel in his homeland, Belgium. A mishap he says played a part in teams poor outing that night in Brussels.

Speaking to pressmen after the tripartite Crisis meeting attended by top security officials, the more relaxed Belgian said he could not bear the circumstances under which he lost the game and therefore “exaggerated” the matter which subjected the African champions to global mockery. “I might pushed this too far, but it was meant for our administrators to take their jobs seriously and be professional. We can't go anywhere with this team if we are not professional. My apologies to Cameroonians for humiliating the nation.” The visibly remorseful tactician poured out.

In the wake of rumors linking him to Ghana and South Africa in the past weeks, the man who had publicly  revealed he would think about his future said it was normal for him to be on high demand. But could not confirm whether he had been approached by his suitors. Broos has reassured Cameroonians that he would extend his contract after February 2018 to permit him repeat his glory this time on home soil. He is upbeat that he would do all it takes to beat Nigeria in a much anticipated double World Cup Qualifier header and stage a good show at the Confederations cup.

FÉCAFOOT President, Tombi A Roko Sydiki also present at the press briefing said what happened in Brussels was a “minor misunderstanding” and everything will be put in place to avoid a repeat of the shameful incident.

The outcome of the meeting chaired by the Minister of Sports and Physical education which also featured thorough interrogations from security elements is still awaited. However Impact Montreal left full back, Oyongo Bitolo who came out in public for being “abandoned” in Brussels has been summoned before the Disciplinary committee of the federation who answer for his outburst. It is likely a hefty sanction hangs over his head.
