Cameroon: FIFA wash off hands in the case pitting Abdouram angainst FECAFOOT

The world football governing body, FIFA has declared its incompetence to handle the case between Abdouraman Hamadou, president of Etoile filante of Garoua and the strong man of Cameroon football federation (FECAFOOT) Tombi Aroko Sidiki.It should be noted that Abdouraman had written to FIFA asking the body to apply the decision of the chamber of arbitration and conciliation of the National Olympic committee of Cameroon which cancelled the election of Tombi A Roko Sidiki as president of FECAFOOT in 2014.  This decision was confirmed by the court of arbitration for sports (CAS).Recently in a release signed by James Cambreleng, States that FIFA can not execute decisions  taken by the court of arbitration for sports in case of any appeal. Following the communiqué, FIFA advice that Abdouraman should seek the legal competence of local jurisdictions to endorse the decision. But this is exactly what Abdouraman has done and it has not yielded any fruit since all local judges are allies of mr Tombi as he is also being held in high esteem by the Yaounde regime.

 

This persistent brouhaha has been on for three years and has perturbed the smooth functioning of the country's football which is just waking up from a long slumber. Two bank accounts belonging to FECAFOOT lodged in UBA and ECO banks have been frozen. They claim the present president has no right of withdrawal. This therefore means that only the 2009 FECAFOOT government can cash out the money. 

 

Abdouraman who has served Iya Mohammed former FECAFOOT president as his chief of cabinet began his war against the body when the transitional government of prof. Joseph Owona took on the command batten to reorganise the country's football.

 

Nonetheless, the same FIFA who is playing a Pontius Pilate role has summoned both parties in a reconciliation meeting in Guinea Conakry on the 11 and 12 of June 2017. What baffles most observers is the fact that, the main protagonist, Abdouraman and co have not been invited.  So which type  of reconciliation is expected to take place in the presence of one party?
