The Cameroon Footballers’ Union has begun a programme to offer 700 high-performance boots to players of the professional football league in the country.   

The move which is intended to boost football in Cameroon will see the union give 450 boots to the MTN Elite 1 and 250 others to the MTN Elite 2, first and second divisions respectively.

So far two clubs have received their share of boots including the current leaders of MTN Elite 1, Eding Sport de la Lekie.  

Each club is entitled to 25 boots.

Recently 17 referees where banned  by the body governing the professional football league in Cameroon for match fixing and other unorthodox sports practices.
