Unveiling Tomorrow's Cameroon Through Today's News

Breaking

A parade in the Russian city of Sochi has featured people in blackface make-up displaying the colours of Cameroon, the BBC reports, quoting the Guardian and the Washington Post .
Sochi is the Russian city where Cameroon will play a match against Germany during the Confederations Cup that kicks off next month.
The same reports hold that there was another man among the people who carried a drum and bananas on a string and wore an afro wig.
Bananas have frequently been used by non-Africans as an insult to Africans whom they consider closer   or similar to monkeys. Monkeys love bananas.
This may rekindle the concerns for tough racial behaviours during the tournament.
Most African players playing out of the continent can say more on this banana phenomenon.
Sometimes, it goes beyond that. Ghanaian star Sulley Muntari has the latest of such stories after being forced to walk off the pitch by untamed behaviour from fans in Italy.
