Confederations cup 2017: Australia-Cameroon match ends in a 1-1 tie
To the disappointment of Hugo Broos and his boys who had before the match, made winning their number one priority, they now only have God to pray to, and to put in an overwhelming effort in their next match against Germany for a bright spot.
Cameroon’s star had earlier shone bright with Andre Aguissa’s 45th minute goal. At least the lions now had full hopes of making it to the next round. This did not last long as Australian Mark Milligan was awarded a penalty, which he made no mistake to miss.
The fight had to begin afresh after that equaliser. The two teams fought to no avail as the match ended 1-1 to the disappointment of both sides.
As funny as how a game is, their success presently depends on the failure of either Germany or Chile this evening. Cameroon will be hoping that Germany loses tonight to Chile and then they in turn, win their next match against the Germans.
Standings after this encounter show that Cameroon occupies the bottom position with one point. Chile is first with three points; Germany follows still with three points and then Australia with one point, before the indomitable lions.
