For their first outing at the FIBA African Champions Cup, Primeiro D’Agosto had to battle hard against Nzui-Manto of Cameroon to avoid what would've been their worst defeat in the history of basketball in Africa.


The Champions of Angola were been led 39-38 during the first half break, but the coming into action of the best player of the last edition Emmanuel Quezada made the difference.

He scored three successive shots of three points in the third quarter which enabled Primeiro D’Agosto to led with a 14 points advantage, thus finally winning 86-78. 


Quezada, ended the game as the best scorer with 27 points with six decisive passes. It was the second defeat for Nzui-Manto in two matches played in group A of the competition.


Today all eyes will be watching the performance of BEAC who will be playing their first match against the Moroccans of AS Sale.
