Unveiling Tomorrow's Cameroon Through Today's News

Breaking

Following the shameful and disgraceful drama that happened in the lions’ den early this week in Belgium, FECAFOOT officials have responded to it in a blame game.

The media has greatly criticized the president of FECAFOOT Tombi A Roko Sidiki for not being able to ensure adequate logistics for the lions. But the highly contested president whose legitimacy is still questioned by many had something else to say.

“The blame goes to my bursar, who did not make necessary disbursements regarding the upkeep of the Lions in Belgium” says Tombi A Roko.

Many Cameroonians find it difficult to reconcile the fact that the government just lavished over 5 billion CFA for AFCON trophy tour barely 2 months ago and now it is unable to provide simple food to the very people who brought this glory to the nation.

Critics say the FECAFOOT president has exposed his worse weakness to the public; the one of shifting blames on others. Others say he has just washed his dirty linings in public.

“The device of shifting blame on others has never solved a problem” says a popular football critic. “Tombi A Roko cannot convince Cameroonians that he was not aware that there were outstanding bills to be paid even before the day of the match. If in any extreme situation he was not aware, then as the FECAFOOT leader, he has failed” adds the critic.

For a situation of this magnitude, many say it is not time to play the blame game but to sit up and make sure that such does not repeat itself in the future.
