The Meme divisional chief town of Kumba in the South West region has been thrown in total panic and confusion this morning .
A planned peaceful walk is raising fears of an impending confrontation with security forces. Hundreds of youths mostly bike riders have turned out at the Town Green square for a solidarity march in connection with the red thursday in Bamenda.
They are denouncing the brutal crackdown of protesters by security forces which has left at least four people dead and many more injured in the North West city.
The police and paramilitary elements are also mobilising to storm the scene. Correspondence reports say traders are closing their shops as everyone heads for their homes. Tension is mounting. Inhabitants of Mbalangi on the Kumba- Buea highway have paralysed traffic linking the two major towns in the South West Region. These riders are denouncing the brutal crackdown on protesters in Bamenda, Thursday.
Calling for the withdrawal of the military from the streets of the North West chief town.
The Mutengene round about reports claim is gathering momentum as a angry protesters plan to stage a showdown to put traffic on hold. Though we are yet to confirm.

Cameroon's Youth Ambassador to the Commonwealth fears the current handling of the Anglophone problem could instead radicalise Anglophone Youths. Addressing the Commonwealth office in the wake of bloody clashes which claimed three lives in Bamenda, Thursday , Achaleke Christian Leke opines that the use of force and excessive violence by the regime is instead fueling the crisis.
Leke says dialogue remains the way out to solve the deepening Anglophone marginalization.
“I condemn in firm terms, the use of violence against civilian demonstrators most of whom are young people. The right to peaceful demonstration is an important political right as enshrined in Article 8 section 1d of the 1966 Covenant on Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights,” he believes.
The Commonwealth Young Person of 2016 also endorses that:
“Equally, I use this opportunity to call on the civil society, religious and traditional rulers, international organisations and other actors of nation building in and out of Cameroon to engage in the most innovative and non-violent perspectives in solving this crisis. There is the need to broker a sustainable peace deal for both parties and de-escalate the violence.”
His appeal comes hours after security used live bullets, water canons and tear gaz on angry youths determined not to allow the holding of a "provocative" rally of the ruling party in the country, the CPDM in the opposition fiefdom. They paid a hefty price for this mission as fresh information say at least three people are reported dead, scores in custody and many more injured. A district police station and vehicles of CPDM barons set ablaze.
Calm is unlikely to return immidiately as troops are being ferried into the city from Koutaba, Limbe , Douala and Yaounde tonight raising fears of further brutality on unarmed citizens.
The US state Department has earlier raised concerns of Right violations over the inhumane crackdown on peaceful protesting lawyers and students of the University of Buea by security forces.
Government says it has sought appropriate avenues for dialogue. Observers however lash out that these efforts have gone with little commitment to see the issue resolved. As the military which has as duty to protect the masses is being used to suppress civil liberties undermining dialogue
The Secretary General of the CPDM Jean Kuete who was to chair today's failed meeting threatened the people of Buea against provoking security forces. While delivering his speech Tuesday he said the social media is giving fake news about the ongoing crisis and that external forces are trying to destabilize the country.

As President Paul Biya offers a a palatable reception in Yaounde today for the Lionesses for their performance at the recently ended 2016 Africa Women Cup of Nations ,his citizens are being killed in Bamenda simply because they are fighting to safeguard an identity.
Masked Soldiers have just entered the town of Bamenda, they drove few minutes ago with some boys in a military truck around up-station towards Santa, brutalizing them ,it is feared no one may survive from the brutal beatings.
Meanwhile in various neighbourhoods in Bamenda, tear gas and water canons are used on striking youths, military helicopter hovering over the town.
Police have used live bullets on the youths wounding many and leaving at least two dead.
Youths are now chanting with the body of the supposedly dead boy around hospital round about saying; "we no go gree", meaning we will not accept.
The people of Bamenda, mostly youth are opposing the holding of a meeting of CPDM party previewed for Thursday afternoon and to be chaired by Cameroon's Prime Minister Yang Philemon.According to the youths, the CPDM is trying to call for peace and urge teachers to go back to classrooms when problems raised have not been given due attention.
The same CPDM party Secretary General Jean Kuete threatened the people of Buea against provoking security forces. While delivering his speech Tuesday, he said the social media is giving fake news about the ongoing crisis and that external forces are trying to destabilize the country.
CPDM party uniform was burnt earlier today in public by some angry youths.
The call by PM Yang for teachers to go back to school in Buea has fallen on deaf ears and schools are still shut down in the whole anglophe zone.
The European Union,United States and Canada have already asked the Biya regime to cease using guns against harmless population.

At least two person are reported dead and several others injured in ongoing clashes pitting protesters and security forces in Bamenda, chief town of the North West region of Cameroon. Though unconfirmed sources talk of more than one
The commercial avenue of this city is now a battle ground as angry protesters are determined to disrupt a rally by the Secretary General of the governing party the CPDM Jean Kuete and Prime Minister Philemon Yang aimed at calming flaring tempers over Anglophone marginalization.
The angry population is grumbling that holding a party rally at a delicate period like now is an act of provocation. They recommend that government be focused on dealing with issues raised by striking te achers and lawyers.
It is for this reason that the irate crowd took to foiling the party gathering which has resulted in skirmishes.security forces have responded with live bullets and tear gas on civilians armed with locally fabricated catapults and stones.
The Prime Minister and his delegation are still stuck at a state own hotel in the city as all likelihood of the rally taking place seems futile.

Cameroon media regulator, the National Communication Council (NCC), has banned three newspapers and a publisher for allegedly flouting professional ethics.
The ban comes amid journalists’ continued criticism of NCC for being a threat to press freedom.
The media regulator announced on Tuesday it had imposed an indefinite ban on the French language weekly newspapers, Aurore and Aurore Plus, and prohibited the publisher, Mr Michel Michaud Moussala, from practising journalism in the country. Another French language weekly, the Depeche du Cameroun and its publisher, Mr Gilbert Avang, also received similar sanctions.
Mr Moussala and his papers were accused of repeated publication of unfounded allegations against the former CEO of the Cameroon Airlines Corporation, Mr Paul Nana Sandjo.
The Cameroon media watchdog said both publishers defied an earlier suspension by the agency this year.
SUSPENDED FOR SIX MONTHS
NCC also sanctioned over 20 journalists, including Ms Marie Irene Ndzana Fouda of the state-owned Cameroon Radio Television (CRTV), for allegedly flouting professional ethics.
Out of 24 complaints against mostly French language media organs and journalists, only two defendants were spared.
The lone English Language newspaper that was affected by the latest sanctions was the Cameroon Herald.
The paper and its publisher, Mr Kingsley Ako, were suspended for six months each. Also suspended for the same period were French language newspapers; Le Soir and publisher Mr Armand Mbianda, La Scene and publisher Mr Christian Emok, L’Epervier and publisher Mr Clovis Leopold Noudjio
The National Union of Cameroon Journalists (SNJC) was yet to officially comment on the latest sanctions by the regulator.
The union had described previous NCC suspensions as an attempt by government to muzzle the already gagged press.
Some journalists and activists say the regulator, whose members are appointed by a presidential decree, was a threat to press freedom and had no mandate to regulate the press.
