Edgar Alain Mebe Ngo'o, the Minister Delegate at the Presidency of the Republic in charge of Defence has reiterated the Cameroon army’s determination to win the war against the Nigerian Islamist sect Boko Haram. Minister Mebe Ngo’o, one of President Biya’s numerous Francophone Beti-Ewondo cabinet ‘ministers made the declaration during an epaulets ceremony that held at the supreme military command centre in Yaoundé the nation’s capital on Thursday January 1st.
The Defence Minister observed that Cameroon as a nation will win the wars now confronting the nation on two fronts; Boko Haram in the Far North region and the armed militia men from the Central African Republic in the East. Edgar Alain Mebe Ngo'o reaffirmed the determination and commitment of the Cameroonian army to defend Cameroon’s territorial integrity. Said the CPDM Minister, “ I would like to assure the President of the Republic and through him, the whole nation that our forces will engage with more determination, tenacity in this war and it will be won”.
It is vital to include in this report that Minister Mebe Ngo’o recently told members of the National Assembly that Cameroon will require an additional 20,000 troops to be able to put up a good resistance against the Boko Haram onslaught in the Far North Region.
