A one day workshop organized by the Regional Committee for Civic Education and National Integration, in collaboration with the Full Gospel Mission, involving all the religious organizational setup of the North West region, under the patronage of NW Governor, Adolphe Lele L’afrique, took place at the Bamenda Congress hall on Tuesday, October 11, 2016.
The workshop was aimed at putting sanity in ways of worships and other ethical behaviours in the region.
The workshop that held under the theme ‘fighting uncivil behaviours perpetrated by religious organizations’, brought together the cross section of denominational leaders, the administration and traditional leaders.
The reason for the Bamenda meeting according to Governor Adolphe Lele L’afrique follows an address to the youths by the head of state, President Paul Biya on the 10th of February 2012 whereby he decried the moral, ethical and civic responsibility decline within the communities and especially amongst the youths.
He went ahead to say that it was based on the directives that the international colloquium on civic education and national integration was organized in Yaoundé in July 2013. He revealed that in executing one of the recommendations of the Yaoundé colloquium, put in the region in August, 2013, the regional committee members of the civic education and national integration regrouping the administration, traditional rulers, political and religious authorities and civil society organizations, meet once in a while to reflect on some civic practices within the region and look for means to combat them.
Meanwhile, the secretary General at the Bamenda city council, Jude Waindem, who represented the Bamenda government delegate, told the governor that, the regulation of worship of churches in the North West region is not only timely but overdue. He reminded the governor that, the noise being caused by the revival churches here and there in nearly all the houses of any street should be a cause for concern by the administration.

Nigeria’s first gay pastor, founder of secret gay church, House of Rainbow, Rowland Jide Macaulay has said being homosexual was honourable.
He took to his Instagram page @Jidemacaulay expressing the joy and freedom he enjoys for accepting that he is gay rather than self- infliction by pretending to be heterosexual.
He wrote: “To be a homosexual is honourable, a gift from God. It is who I am. God makes no mistakes. Knowing the truth as a gay Christian is liberating and gives me the most joy of my freedom.
“I have paid the price for lying to be heterosexual,Pretending to be who you are will only harm you.
“Everyone was hurt, my father, mother, wife, son, my siblings, in-laws, friends and relatives etc
“I was FORCED to lie. I justified these lies with religion, culture, tradition and law.
“I lied to myself for all of my adolescence; I lied to my family and friends. Because I didn’t know any better.
I lied to my ex-wife because I was afraid of telling the truth.
“I lied in my prayers asking God to cure me of homosexuality instead of helping me to come to terms.
“My religious belief and dogma nearly killed me. I wrongly married a woman and badly hurt everyone.
“I suffered emotional and psychological breakdown and through it all I survived.”

Nigerian pastor during a crusade has been exposed as he was filmed performing a fake miracle by a man with a hidden camera.
The man with the hidden camera wrote:
“Please share this so people will learn to look up to God instead of men who claim to be called by God. I was at the event live and this is not hear say. They have paid gangs who work with them. I have always suspected him so I went with my hidden Camera.
Pay attention to 2:20–2:40 minutes section of the video, you will notice a young man drop a black polyethylene bag in front of the sick man from where two dead lizards popped out from. I saw what happened and I didn’t want to embarrass them so I had to quietly follow the boy who dropped the lizard to question him in private and collect his number.
I made him my friend and over a period of 2 weeks, I bought his trust and he confessed to me that the priest pay up to 15k per deal and that they were about 7 working for him. He confessed of sneaking into peoples compound at night to bury charms which the same Man of god who sent them will unearth the next day or whenever they come for covenant breaking.“
According to Mr. Gabriel Nwachukwu who has had prior dealings with him;
“l know this Priest very very well and he’s fake!!! He was invited to my own compound l mean my own blood elder sister invited him for family deliverance on August 12th 2012 in Ogbor ugiri community, lsiala Mbano. after my elder brother’s mysterious death. And he did the same thing he did here, he took us to our backyard and began to dig the ground, at a point he began to pour water into the hole in the ground and asked us to close our eyes, face up and pray. few seconds later he asked us to open our eyes and look, without digging the hole any further he asked his servant to pour back some of the sand into the hole and then asked him to open the hole again, as he was removing that same sand from the same hole, he brought out something tied with red clothe.
“The red clothe was still shiny and fresh,,,,Haba,,something buried for a long time?? And they put it inside their bag…God knows l and my immediate elder never believed it……He said he knew the person that did it and that he will tell us his name the next day during our family meeting but he did not come to our house rather he asked his boys to come and carry the working materials they left in our compound and didn’t tell us the name of the person that did the evil, even when we went to his fake adoration ground at somewhere in Ehime Mbano, that same day, he refused talking to us, told his boys to tell us that he was busy and till today he never told us anything or come to our compound or community.
“Before he was claiming a catholic priest, before the Catholics denied him then, he proclaimed himself an Anglican priest, which my mother still has his fake amalac (calender) of Anglican priesthood, in her room and the Anglicans also denied him, he now claims to a catholic priest under East American catholic church.

Three members of the Faithful Word Baptist Church in Arizona in the United States have been denied entry into South Africa, the country’s Department of Home Affairs announced on Saturday.
The three were denied entry due to a ban placed on their pastor, Steven Anderson, for his hate speeches and anti-gay sentiments.
He was banned from entering South Africa by the Minister for Home Affairs, Malusi Gigaba, on Tuesday after he announced his planned visit.
“Mr Steven Anderson and members and/or associates of his church are prohibited from entering the Republic of South Africa,” Gigaba had said.
According to South African media News24, the Department of Home Affairs spokesperson Mayihlome Tshwete said one of the three was stopped at Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International Airport, while another was prevented in Germany from travelling to South Africa.
He added that the third person was still trying to get into the country.
The church gained international attention in 2009 when Pastor Steven Anderson declared hatred for Barack Obama in a sermon and wished for his death.
He had gone on to attack France after the Paris attacks in 2015 and also the US after the Orlando nightclub shooting in 2016 where he called the victims “pedophiles”.
Anderson is also reported to have been banned this month from entering the United Kingdom for praising the Orlando shooter.

In the Saudi city of Mina, Muslim pilgrims are taking part in the ritual Stoning of the Devil, the last major rite of the Hajj pilgrimage.
During the ritual, Muslims throw stones and pebbles at three walls — formerly pillars. It’s a demonstration that they have rejected sin. Mina, east of Mecca, is where last year’s deadly stampede took place. Hundreds of people were killed en route to the Jamarat Bridge to perform the stoning. The bridge is multi-storied to accommodate the huge number of pilgrims. This year nearly two million people have take part in the Hajj.
Saudi King Salman arrived in Mina on Sunday to ensure the pilgrims can "perform their rituals easily, conveniently and safely", the official Saudi Press Agency reported. He was also briefed on preparations for the safe movement of pilgrims between Muzdalifah and Mina. The stoning ritual is performed three times over the coming days.
The first comes at the start of Eid al-Azha, the feast of sacrifice, Islam’s holiest, which is marked by more than 1.5 billion Muslims worldwide. After the stoning, sheep are slaughtered and the meat distributed to needy Muslims, symbolising Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice Ismail on the orders of Allah, who provided a lamb in the boy’s place at the last moment. The stoning ritual emulates the actions of Ibrahim in resisting the temptation to disobey. Last year’s stampede was the worst disaster in the pilgrimage’s history. Saudi Arabia has stuck by its initial death toll of 769, but figures compiled from officials in more than 30 countries gave a tally almost three times higher. Authorities announced an investigation into the tragedy but no findings have ever been released. Several new safety measures have been introduced this year.
Among these is the distribution of bracelets which store pilgrims’ personal data. Roads have also been widened in the Jamarat area, newspapers reported. Aerial photographs on Saudi television showed rivers of pilgrims flowing toward the Jamarat on multiple roads. A security officer was shown monitoring the crowds on closed-circuit television screens. Helicopters have been monitoring the flow of pilgrims, while police have been directing them on the ground to make sure there are no bottlenecks. Pilgrims have told AFP they feel safe and have noticed organisational improvements.
"The Saudis organise everything for us. We are truly at ease here," Youssef al-Mehri, 24, from Oman said with a prayer rug slung over his shoulder. But the new safety measures adopted by Sunni-dominated Saudi Arabia failed to satisfy Shiite Iran, which has angrily questioned the kingdom’s custodianship of Islam’s holiest places.
Iran lost the largest number of dead last year, at 464. Its 64,000 pilgrims have been excluded from this year’s hajj for the first time in decades after the regional rivals failed to agree on security and logistics. Hundreds of thousands of Iranian faithful held an alternative pilgrimage to the Shia holy city of Karbala in Iraq on Saturday. Saudi Arabia said on Sunday that it had launched a new television channel to broadcast the hajj rituals in the Farsi language of Iran. The pilgrimage is one of the five pillars of Islam, which capable Muslims must perform at least once, marking the spiritual peak of their lives. The pilgrims come from every corner of the globe. Indonesia -- the most populous Muslim nation -- has the largest contingent.
