Cameroon last hosted a tournament of this magnitude in 1972 and Ahmadou Ahidjo's Stadium in Yaoundé , the Reunification Stadium in Douala and the Roum Daja Stadium in Garoua were constructed for the rendezvous. However today the stakes are much higher and more demanding because competing nations have increase from the initial six nation tournament to twelve, sixteen and today raised to twenty four.

The inhabitants of Yaoundé are already given a foretaste of the kind advertisement bonanza that shall be available during the tournament. In one and half hour, the local Organizing committee of the African Cup of Nations, those who came in from the Confederation of African Football, were given a foretaste of how the tournament shall look like in such a frenzy.

The other stadia not yet constructed have been promised by this committee to be accomplished within ample and record time. Complaints of the ill preparedness were led to rest by Felix Zogo, who said that prefabricated slabs designed in Italy shall fast track the construction and completion of the projected stadia. Mr. Felix Zogo said that it was imperative now for the Cameroonian Public to be galvanized and fired in their imaginations so as to be ready for victories. For victories to be attainable, the public needs to stand by the Indomitable Lions come 2019.
