Afrobasket 2017: Cameroon qualifies for quarter finals after beating Rwanda 81-77
Coach Antonio Barbosa and his boys can celebrate for now, after moving one step further than the team did in the last edition of the competition as they were eliminated at the level of the 8th finals by Algeria. They made it this time to the quarter finals, eliminating Rwanda with 81-77.
The game was a tough one especially towards the end. The last thirty seconds could have ended with the lions parking their bags but they were skilful enough to avert disqualification. In the first quarter, Rwanda led 22-18, in the second Cameroon topped 23-14, Rwanda took the lead again in the third quarter but in the fourth, there was no leader, it ended 24-24.
Cameroon alongside Tunisia, are the two representatives of group C, who will continue with their fight for the championship this year.
