Unveiling Tomorrow's Cameroon Through Today's News

Breaking

Cameroonian striker Karl Toko Ekambi is set to leave the Saudi club Abha and join Al Ettifaq in the final stretch of the transfer window. In return, central defender Marcel Tisserand will make the opposite journey, leaving Al Ettifaq to join Abha.

Toko Ekambi has faced challenges in the national team in recent months, notably during the recent Africa Cup of Nations (CAN), where Cameroon was eliminated in the round of 16 against Nigeria. However, at the club level, the 31-year-old forward has had a much more successful period since his arrival at Abha last summer from Olympique Lyonnais. He has scored 7 goals and provided an assist in 17 matches. His individual performances have attracted the attention of top-level clubs.

As part of this deal, Karl Toko Ekambi will join Al Ettifaq, managed by Steven Gerrard. Both clubs have reached an agreement, and his transfer is expected to be officially announced in the coming hours. This opportunity marks a progression for the player, who faced challenges in France before his move to the Gulf.

In parallel, Marcel Tisserand, the 31-year-old central defender and former captain of the Democratic Republic of Congo, will leave Al Ettifaq to join Abha. This decision is part of the agreement between the two clubs and signifies a new chapter in the player's career, as he has not been called up to the national team since the arrival of Sébastien Desabre.
