George Weah invites Arsene Wenger to his inauguration
The newly elected president of Liberia, George Weah, has invited Arsenal coach to his inauguration ceremony, which shall take place on 22 January 2018.
Arsene Wenger revealed that he had been invited to the inauguration of the newly elected leader of Liberia, reports said on Friday.
He said he was not sure to be present at the ceremony but added that if he is suspended, he will be there.
The Arsenal coach is facing sanctions for comments made against referees in recent weeks.
Wenger was Weah's coach in Monaco in the French League from 1988 to 1992. He expressed his excitement to learn that George had been elected president of Liberia ''The life of this guy is a real film. It is unbelievable. It can make a fantastic film,''Â said an excited Wenger.
''I remember when I saw him the first time at Monaco, coming in a bit lost, not knowing anybody, not being rated by anybody as a player and becoming the best player in the world in 1995 and today becoming the president of his country'' the coach of French origin said.
George Weah shall be inaugurated later on this month. He takes over from Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Africa's first elected president.
