Meeting Scheduled Between Cameroonian Sports Minister, Fecafoot President, and New Indomitable Lions Selector
Cameroonian Sports Minister, Narcisse Mouelle Kombi, is set to lead a meeting on May 7 with Marc Brys, the newly appointed coach of the Indomitable Lions, and Samuel Eto'o, the president of Fecafoot, whose nomination is yet to be recognized.
This exclusive information was reported by Jeune Afrique. According to the French-based newspaper, Samuel Eto’o, the president of the Cameroonian Football Federation (Fecafoot), and Belgian Marc Brys, the new coach of the Indomitable Lions, are scheduled to meet for the first time on May 7. The meeting will be organized by the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education (Minsep) under Narcisse Mouelle Kombi.
A month after his appointment by Narcisse Mouelle Kombi, the Minister of Sports, under the instructions of State Secretary Paul Biya, Marc Brys has yet to be officially recognized by Samuel Eto'o. The former captain of the Indomitable Lions has taken the lead, claiming that Fecafoot was excluded from the selection process, and therefore, he refused to sign Brys's contract. On April 7, Eto'o himself arrived, accompanied by another selector, late in the afternoon.
This meeting is expected to be a significant step towards resolving the standoff between the Cameroonian Football Federation and the newly appointed coach of the national team.
