Cameroon: Friedrich Ebert Foundation says 38,000 Cameroonians leave the country every year because of lack of opportunities
A study by the authoritative German Non Governmental Organization, Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Kamerun has revealed that 38,000 young Cameroonian leave the country every year because of lack of opportunities. The findings were made public on February 26, 2016 in the economic capital city of Douala during the inaugural session of a program to instill motivation, inspiration and training to develop a new class of entrepreneurs and youth leaders in Cameroon.
The Friedrich Ebert Stiftung experts also noted that 75% of young Cameroonian immigrants are between the ages of 20 and 35, 70% of whom have at least a Bachelor's degree. The study also indicated that 35% of entrepreneurs are young people between 30 and 35 years and that 47% of young people remain students throughout their juvenile period- a finding that betrays major failure on the part of the Biya regime to instill values, inspiration and motivation into young people.
