Bamenda: Military Officer runs for dear life amidst danger
It was a mixed situation of pain and humour in the Ntarinkon neighbourhood of Bamenda yesterday morning when a military officer took to his heels when he heard gun shots coming from a nearby apartment.
The Military officer, who came into the town in one of the many consignments sent to Bamenda by the head of state, was on patrol in Ntarinkon when the incident hit.
An Eye Witness describes the scene in humour. “At about 5am this morning when I was going to work, I bypassed a military man seriously running. He ran like an antelope. I did not understand why and when I continued in my direction, I heard gunshots coming from the neighbouring apartment. That is when I myself ran into the bush” He laughs.
The population of Bamenda has condemned the action taken by the military athlete man in all bitterness.
“All they know is to intimidate armless civilians. When it is time to show that they are military men, they will flee as this one just did. It is a disgrace to the military” says a grumbling inhabitant.
